If This Turkey Tastes Half As Good As It Looks...
(Lumberton, NJ) - The long wait is nearly over. Can March Madness X possibly live up to its sky-high expectations? There are many reasons to expect March Madness X to be the best ever:
- "Royal Bounty"
- Mystery celebrity appearance
- The return of "Fired and Ice"
- Rumors of new Quate Kings memorabilia
- "Bigger" payouts to winners
High expectations can lead to disappointment...such as dry, overcooked turkeys.
You Won't Get to "Meet Marvis Frazier"
(Philadelphia, PA) - Early this morning, one time heavyweight contender Marvis Fraizer announced he would not be the mystery guest at March Madness . Marvis' announcement left fans crestfallen, as many had long dreamed to experience what is promised at www.meetmarvisfrazier.com .
Marvis longs to attend the tournament. Alas, his schedule is too full. Marvis' memoir goes to print Monday and he and his team will be at work all weekend conducting final proofing and making last minute changes.
The organizers of March Madness X presented by Pop's Pub are now scrambling to secure someone of Marvis' stature to attend their event. We at www.TripleCrownOfShuffleboard.com , are praying for their success.
Click Play below to watch Marvis' entire fight against "Iron" Mike Tyson. Most boxing pundits agree if Marvis had escaped the first 30 seconds, he had a great chance to win.
Marvis regrets he will not make it to March Madness X.

Pat was born in Rhode Island and moved to Texas early in life. He attended Rice University before joining the Phillies organization. Combs enjoyed limited success in four seasons as a Phillie. Now retired from the game, Pat lives in Texas and works as a financial adviser at Morgan Stanley.

TCoS - Bulletin: No Funds in Cypriot Banks
(Nicosia, Cyprus) - With the ongoing bank bailout in Cyprus including the partial seizure of some accounts, TCoS wishes to inform our fans of the financial impact this will have on our organization: There should be no impact as our cash reserves are held in US banks, and not in Cypriot banks.
We know much better places to "offshore" our assets than Cyprus.

Mystery Guest Clue: Who Won't Be The Mystery Guest
(Lumberton, NJ) - Today we introduce a new feature which will run all week. As you may have read on this page or another shuffleboard site, there are rumors of a mystery guest attending March Madness X.
Contractual obligations prevent us from revealing the mystery guest's identity. Instead, each day this week, we will profile one person who is not the mystery guest. Once you have ruled out these six people, guessing the mystery guest should be quite easy.
Today's confirmed non-guest is The Big Boss Man.
The Big Boss Man, a prison guard character. Wrestling as a heel, Boss Man's post-match routine often included handcuffing his defeated opponents (mainly jobbers) to the ring rope and beating them with a nightstick or ball and chain.
Born Ray Traylor, Bossman sandwiched two stints in the WWF/WWE (1988-1993 and 1998-2003) around time with All-Japan Wrestling and WCW.
Due to his death from a heart attack in 2004 at 41 years old, Ray "Big Boss Man" Traylor will not be the mystery guest at March Madness X.

TCoS and NASCAR - Surprising Similarities
(Daytona Beach, FL) - At first glance, most spectators would say the other major sports league which TCoS most resembles is the NFL. It's true these leagues have some commonality. However, the truth is that TCoS and NASCAR have more in common than any other sports sanctioning bodies.
The most noteworthy characteristic shared by TCoS and the NASCAR is how the season opens with the biggest event. While the World Series and Super Bowl end baseball and football season, respectively. The Daytona 500 and March Madness are both the first and most significant event of their sport's season. Like racing, top shuffleboard players spend their winters preparing for their sport's premier event. Once the first event's results are in the books, the season continues, but the remaining events do not match the importance of the premier.
Another common characteristic is the elite talent at March Madness, as well as the Daytona 500. Racer Jimmy Johnson commented "There have been other tracks that have separated the men from the boys. This is the track that will separate the brave from the weak after the boys are gone. If you replace "track" with "tournament", you have a perfect description of talent level and intensity at Pop's Pub for March Madness.
We are getting closer to that special Saturday. It's like Christmas in March!
NASCAR-style jackets...No coincidence here.

"Bands" vs. "Weigh Money"
(Riverton, NJ) - Despite Rick already announcing the 2013 tournament cash prizes, we are hearing rumors of bigger payouts to the victors of March Madness X. Frankly, we don't know what to make of it. Our best guess is that Rick has secured some prime sponsorships leading to bigger payouts. We've learned over the years, however, that Rick is an unpredictable rogue. When we try to guess his next move, we are typically wrong.
More suspense as the tournament season creeps closer...
Money.Sponsorships...Kind of makes me long for the good 'ole days of amateur shuffleboard.

Rumors Swirl Regarding Mystery Guest
(Lumberton, NJ) - Typically, traffic to this website jumps in the weeks leading up to March Madness. The magnitude of traffic this year is especially impressive, though. Shuffleboard pundits are attributing the 2013 web traffic jump to rumors surrounding this year's mystery guest.
Of course, we don't know who this year's mystery guest will be. Actually, we know - we just won't tell you. Another reason to make it to Pop's Pub this Saturday. More later this week...

Play 3 - Get Recognized
(Riverton, NJ) - The Triple Crown of Shuffleboard reminds all active players this year's series will again feature our recognition program. It's simple: play in all 3 tournaments, and TCoS will recognize your commitment with a nice piece of Triple Crown Apparel. Will this year's recognition piece be a golf shirt? sweatshirt? jacket? We are still deciding. However, we guarantee it will be more useful than something like this:

Everything You Need To Know About Dayton
(Dayton, OH) - Hello and welcome to Dayton, "The Gem City". Founded in 1796, Dayton has a population of 141,000 within city limits while over 3/4 of a million Ohioans call the metro area home. Dayton is the county seat of Montgomery County.
The first people to call what is now Dayton home were Native Americans who found the land next to a small bend in the Great Miami River a welcoming place. Jonathan Dayton, for whom the city is named, was a signer of the US Constitution. National Cash Register company was founded in Dayton in 1884 and was a large employer in the Dayton area until leaving in 2010. The Wright Brothers traveled to North Carolina from their Dayton home when making their historic flights.
Today, with heavy manufacturing in decline, healthcare and defense are Dayton's main industries. Fifth Third Field, home of the Dayton Dragons minor league baseball team, is considered the crown jewel of minor league parks. The facility, developed as part of an ongoing urban revitalization, helped the Dragons attain the longest sellout streak in all of professional sports.

A Bounty on The Quate Kings
(Lumberton, NJ) - The "Royal Bounty" is an interesting wrinkle in the recently announced March Madness X. Competitors will have extra motivation to take down the five time champion Quate Kings. Any victory over the Kings will net $100 to the winning team, courtesy of Triple Crown of Shuffleboard.
Upon hearing the bounty announced, Grand Champion Rick commented "We've been so dominant over the years, anyone who beats us in a single game deserves to be recognized." Equally great champion Matt added "It's truly an honor for the other players who get to share a table with the legendary Quate Kings."
Only one team will emerge as champions March 23rd. What is certain, however, is the "Royal Bounty" will help make March Madness X the most exciting edition yet.
This guy knows a thing or two about collecting bounties....the long offseason nears its end.
